It should be a law that everyone’s house smells like the holiday season. Set the mood! ESP since it’s calorie free— YUM.

You seriously just throw some shit in a pan & turn the stove on simmer. A two year old could do it.

‘Tis the season to make this deliciously, easy, homemade potpourri while getting romantical, dimming the lights, starting a fire, & pouring some wine.

Holiday, Homemade Potpourri

[ I made this last year w/ diff ingredients {{ find last year's scent here }}! ]

Inspiration: my stepmom, Julie

2 sliced lemons

1 sliced apple

2 cups 100% apple juice

A handful of whole nutmeg

A sprinkle of whole cloves

2 dashes of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice

+ Directions: throw everything into a pan. Put stove on simmer. This baby can last two to four weeks. Add apple juice as needed. Enjoy lovas!

I heard the best eating tip the other day from my girlfriend, Stefanie: don’t eat straight out of the bag. Simple/stupid, right? Think about it: when you eat from a bag, a container, and/or jar- you’re bound to overeat. Buy portion-sized bowls [ think miso soup size ]- it provides accountability & allows you to practice portion control. There’s absolutely no reason to watch TV or read, while mindlessly stuffing chips from an extra large bag, down your throat. My snack today [ ^^ see above - I ended up scooping the hummus into the bowl too ;p ] was the perfect post-lunch bite- not too big, not too small.

The Most Amazing Detox Tea

Whenever I am craving a warm cup of comforting tea I turn to this recipe. It’s super easy to make and all of the ingredients can be found at your local health food store. You will need:

+ Detox to Retox Tea:

1 Yogi DeTox Tea bag

1/2 teaspoon of raw, organic honey

2 splashes of Ginger Spice Apple Cider Vinegar

1 squeeze of lemon

1 1/2 cups of hot water

Some of the benefits? Lemon is a natural diuretic which flushes out the system. Apple cider vinegar has been known to treat many ailments, fight obesity, & clear up the complexion. The dandelion-infused DeTox tea by Yogi contains herbs that help clean the blood & eliminate toxins. And lastly, raw honey adds flavor, increases energy, & strengthens the immune system. This cup of tea is perfect when you’re feeling under the weather…or hungover!
