Well, not really, but kinda.

I wanted to post the PERFECT Skinny Confidential recipe for you guys.

But I didn’t want to make skinny stuffing or nasty gravy ( sorry, not a fan ).

So alllllll day long I was OCD-ing on WTF to post {?!?!}.

At around 6 pm I decided to text my über-healthy friend, Carly.

And obviously she had the best recipe ever. Because, duh.

I mean, seriously— cinnamon/cider Brussels sprouts?

Heaven.

The easiest directions ever ( makes four servings ): in a large pan over medium heat, heat oil. Cook Brusssels sprouts ( cut side down ), flipping once until browned for ten to twelve minutes. Add apple & pear; cook until soft for five minutes. Add cider & cinnamon; simmer, stirring, until all liquid cooks away.

Oh, & NBD: a serving offers about 3/4 of your daily need for Vitamin C.

I made these today & will def be whipping ‘um up tomorrow for TG.

So good it hurts.

Happy Thanksgiving-eve!

Ok, so I have a question ( because lately you guys are like, the best ever at answering any/every question ).

But first a lil backstory: I’m typically not an early riser; I believe in A LOT of sleep…because, uhhh duh–?! It’s healing, energizing, & healthy.

BTW: a lot of ZZzzz’s doesn’t automatically make someone a lazy, unproductive slob.

I mean, I love to heal my body from the inside out & let it rest- & honestly? In my opinion, sleep is brain food.

Plus it feels damn good.

BUT. Lately I’ve been thinking about waking up an hour earlier ( yes, I think about this stuff; #anxiety ).

So. Normally I wake up between 8:45 am-9:30 am.

This has worked well for me. It may not work for you. But in my experience, it’s worked swimmingly. Also, keep in mind I go to bed between 12:30 am-1 am…I’m def most productive late at night.

Anyway as I’m getting older ( boo ), a 8:15 am-8:30 am wake up call sounds weirdly more appealing.

Ok, now for the question(s). To all the early risers out there: what are some tips on how to wake the F up? Give me the nitty gritty ( not some alarm-setting-wash-my-face-with-freezing-cold-water-tip ).

K?

Oh! &, ya I know what they say…”the early bird gets the worm.”

…But hey, the second mouse gets the cheese ( AKA the sleep ; ) ).

OMFG.

I pulled my neck SO bad on Friday.

Like, I went to change lanes on the freeway & literally couldn’t turn my head.

Similar to one big stiffy.

So because of the pain, I decided to take Saturday & Sunday off to rest.

But today I decided to peel my lazy ass out of bed to work out. Afterwards I went for an overdue, much needed medical massage ( << more on this lil secret later ).

Ok, & guess what? Supposedly rest isn’t always ‘so good’ for you.

I spoke with a trainer, nutritionist, & the masseuse today and they all were separately consistant on their opinion: you need to move- not rest.

Laying around with a muscle ache= no blood circulation. Most of the time to heal the aching muscle(s), movement is essential.

If your ankles are swollen, walk around. If you’re neck hurts do exercises that are the opposite of compression ( so say no to push-ups! ).

And duh, after my workout/massage/green juice, I felt ten times better.

Because movement is key.

In other news…I got a rice cooker. Carly’s post was total inspo for me to cook quinoa from home.

Am I turning into an old lady?

Just sayin’.
